Trend Alert: Souvenir Jackets – Definitely One of the Most Significant Trends in Streetwear at the Moment

I had the pleasure to take a look at the Diesel Pre-Fall 16 Collection to present you my two favorite looks from the new range. One piece that immediately caught my attention was this deep blue japanese souvenir jacket. Souvenir jacket’s are probably the most significant jacket trend in men’s streetwear this summer. As I think for a good reason. Their bomber-jacket-like fit makes them versatile, sporty and classy at the same time. The shimmering fabrics bring in just a dash of luxury while the artful traditional japanese embroideries on the chest and back add a distinctive design detail. The animal and floral motives harmonize well with the playful summer themes.

Souvenir jackets look awesome with just a tee underneath for a more casual, college sort of look but they also go well over a classic button down for a more elegant style. Through their striking design they are a true eye-catcher in every outfit. Therefore I suggest to keep the rest of the look rather simple.

On the pictures I’m wearing a destructed stretch denim from Diesel’s new denim collection in a light grey wash which looks super fresh with the white tee. That way all the emphasis is put on the contrasting Jacket. White sneaks round off the style with a sporty note. One last thing, as you might have noticed white tennis socks have transgressed their ban into the no-go corner and have reentered the trend-stage again. I definitely like this development since I think they provide for a cool oldschool street flair.
