Outfit: All Black Viennese Hipster Look

Why All Black?

I’ll spare you the stale and way too influentially used quotes on why you should wear black for this time. If you want a reason for wearing black, how about this one: it looks freaking awesome on almost everyone and is super easy to combine! For me black is one of several “colors” (yeah I know it’s not an actual color smarty-pants 😉 ) in my wardrobe and only occasionally I really feel like rocking an all black look. Since it never goes out of fashion, black is usually a safe choice.

What on earth is a Viennese Hipster Look?

Well, of course there are different interpretations and forms of what a hipster looks like. And most certainly definitions also vary from city to city. But I called this outfit the “All Black Viennese Hipster Look” because it really matches Vienna’s charming kind of hipness. It’s quite minimalistic, not too bold but still edgy and despite coming with a somewhat elegant retro-chic note, the look maintains its sporty nonchalance. The hat goes well with Vienna’s more artsy and outgoing side, while the opticals provide for a glimmer of intellectualism. Exceptional jewelry gives expression to a more extroverted side.

My Tipp: Cropped Trousers

Cropped trousers with a tailored optic should not be missing in your closet. You can style them in so many different ways that will all look fancy. Quality & Details Matter

As to the trousers, the fit is very important. Cropped trousers like this one should not be too slim, in fact I prefer wider ones with a slightly dropped crotch, narrowing down along the calfs. Ideally the legs of the trousers finish just a couple of centimeters above your ankles. A subtle pleat makes the trousers look more elegant. Also details and accessories like the hat, opticals, jewelry and belt play a huge role in outfits like this one, so select them carefully. Last but not least you can try to play with stylistic inconsistencies, such as the sneakers in this look. Although in general the outfit is kept rather classy, the sneakers bring in a sporty element, that freshens up the whole style.
