The Awesome Threesome – Week 18/2014

7. Mai 2014

Once again I’d like to present to you my three songs of the week.

1. DIPLO – REVOLUTION (FT. FAUSTIX & IMANOS AND KAI)

This song was my soundtrack of the week. I kind of stumbled upon it and instantly fell in love with its energy. No matter whether you’re trying to get into club mood or just walk through your city with your headphones on, this song will make you feel like you have superpowers. The recipe is a not new, yet well done combination of a catchy melodic vocal build-up, leading into an intense in-your-face deep house part, that without any doubt will make you want to jump around like crazy.

2. ROBERT DELONG – GLOBAL CONCEPTS

Also this song is extremely energetic. While its verses sound rather nice and somehow more like an electro-influenced indie song, the chorus with its powerful rhythm and sick synths totally kicks ass. A song for every time of the day, it will always give you the right dose of motivation and inevitably make you feel like dancing. So in case you don’t feel comfortable losing control in public, be aware when listening to this song around other people.

3. SÖDRASIDAN – MIN HEMSTAD

Last week one of Sweden’s illest Rap exports, SödraSidan, released their debut full length titled “för evigt unga” (=forever young). Min Hemstad (=my hometown), a song about the band’s city of origin, Stockholm, is probably my favourite song of that record. This song tells a story about the two faces of one of the world’s most amazing cities and thereby always takes back my mind to the awesome time i had living up there and making it sort of my second hemstad. You don’t have to speak swedish in order to love that song and get the vibe. Anyways the song is a perfect example of Stockholms flourishing rap culture which i can strongly advice everyone, no matter whether you understand the language, to check out.
