Men’s Winter Trends – Corduroy is Back

23. Januar 2019
This winter sees the triumphant return of one of fashion’s most classic fabrics, corduroy. Originally worn by men of French and English aristocracy in the 18th century. Due to its durability it then became very popular among English working class in the 19th century and ultimately made its breakthrough in popular culture in the 20th century. Nowadays it stands synonymous for preppy style with retro flair. Although the fabric has been riding kind of a popularity rollercoaster over time, it has been around in fashion for quite a long time for good reasons. As mentioned before, Corduroy is extremely durable and is a great garment of choice during the colder time of the year, since its dense weave won’t let the wind & cold creep in underneath.

Trend Report: This Winter, Wear Corduroy!

So my advice this winter, get yourself wrapped up in some nice and classy corduroy! With more and more brands picking up the corduroy trend this winter, you won’t have a hard time finding a piece that suits your style. As for myself, I ordered this beautiful elegant corduroy overshirt from the Swedish brand A Day’s March the other week. Its moss green color, superior fabric quality and the clean-lined fit with the zip on the front make it an ideal add on to a large variety of looks. However it works particularly well with an everyday version of casual-chic style, as shown on the pictures, always adding a special extra and a touch of retro luxury to your outfits.
